A-Star Tuition - Helping You Achieve The Best Grade in MathsClick Image To Visit Site Welcome to A-Star Tuition. We are a tuition company based in Hayes, West London. We specialise in teaching Mathematics. If you’re not looking to be tutored in maths, then unfortunately we can’t help. On the other hand, if you are looking to excel at maths, you’ve come to the right place.

These days it’s common for tutors to offer a wide range of subjects. This is normally done to attract more students and increase income – often resulting in a watered down service. Here at A-Star we disagree with this approach.

Our approach is to focus on specialisation. After all, you want to achieve your maximum potential (and grade) in your chosen subject. We are experts in maths and we can help you master the subject. We teach maths at all levels, right up to and including GCSE.

If you qualify to become one of our students we will initially give you an assessment test. Based on this test and the first batch of lessons you will be given a target grade (for the exam you are taking). If you don’t achieve your target grade (or better) we will give you a refund of your tuition fee.

Our tutor specialises in maths and has studied it right up to degree level. Over the years numerous problem solving techniques have been developed in order to arrive at solutions quicker. This approach will be shared with students as part of the tuition service.

We all know students can leave it late when preparing for examinations. To cater for this we can organise intensive learning sessions, with specific model question/answer routines, to get you ready for the big day in record time.

Examinations boards are constantly tweaking their papers – we ensure you are focusing on the right stuff

Eric Schmidt (the chairman of Google) recently said that Britain must place more importance on teaching maths or risk falling behind international competitors. His comments came after Ofsted reported that half of all schools are failing to teach the subject to an adequate standard. People with poor maths skills will be left behind in the job markets where the highest paid jobs will demand a high level of numerical ability.

A number of government agency reports have shown a direct correlation between poor maths skills and lower wage levels. As competition increases within the skilled jobs market, having a top qualification will help you to stand out from the crowd. With many schools failing to deliver, a tutor is the best alternative.

Research carried out by a number of specialist agencies (e.g.: Institute of Education, Sutton Trust) have shown that pupils who receive private tuition achieve better results than their counterparts who rely on a normal school education. In London it’s estimated that over 40% of children receive tuition at some point during their… Read more…
